The firm covers all aspects of Company Law and Corporate Affairs. Briefs and works are undertaken for Companies, Government Agencies and parastatals, individuals and Financial Institutions amongst others in their transactions, negotiations, ventures and other aspects of corporate activities. The firm acts as Company Secretary to various companies. Duties extend to filing of documents and returns at the Corporate Affairs Commission registry, attendance at companies meetings and generally ensuring compliance with the Companies and Allied Matters Act and other Legislation regulating Corporate and Commercial Activities in Nigeria. The firm is also engaged in the Incorporation of Companies for Nigerians and foreign Investors, offering diverse legal services like obtaining Business Permits, Expatriate Quota etc and rendering advice on areas of law relating thereto.
LITIGATION
Doyin Awoyale SAN & Co is proud of its litigation practice, having achieved many outstanding result for its clients over the years. The department concentrates essentially on civil, criminal and commercial litigation. We are well groomed in litigation and have litigated cases and suits in various courts in Nigeria and many of the cases we have handled at the Appellate Courts are reported in the Law Reports in Nigeria. The Department is under the direct supervision of our Principal Partner. We have appeared regularly before State High Courts, Federal High Courts, National Industrial Court, Investments and Securities Tribunal, Election Petition Tribunal, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. We have argued seminal Supreme Court cases over controversial but fundamental questions of Arbitration, Evidence Law, Property Law/Land Law, Banking and Insurance Law, Labour Law, Electoral Law, and Company Law and Practice with a constitutional dimension respectively. The central element in our approach to dispute resolution is to focus relentlessly on achieving the client’s business objective to the extent that the law and the rules of professional ethics permit.
ARBITRATION/MEDIATION
We have advised on arbitration over the bank financing of a real Estate acquisition, the long - term hire of a fleet of marine vessels for the large-scale storage of refined petroleum product, an insurance claim for damage to oil pipelines, a dispute between a telecommunications company and other suppliers and on banking related services and Investment Arbitration. Our Principal Counsel has been able to utilize his vast knowledge in Arbitration in this regard.
COMMERCIAL LAW, BANKING AND TAXATION

Doyin Awoyale SAN & Co provides investors with information, advice and assistance on the establishment of companies. We also offer advice on the tax implications of doing business in Nigeria, taxation issues relating to residence or domicile, Value Added Tax, Companies Income Tax and all other aspects of corporate and personal taxation in Nigeria. We undertake briefs covering all aspects of trade disputes arising out of transactions involving sale of goods, consumer and documentary credits and commercial contracts. OIL AND GAS
Doyin Awoyale SAN & Co main focus in the Oil and Gas industry is in the downstream sector particularly and the arena of LNG, Petrochemicals and gas-to liquids projects continues to evolve. Liberalization within the gas sector in Europe, together with increasing gas demand in Europe, the US and Asia has led to the development of a number of LNG import projects as well as the expansion of liquefaction capacity in producing countries. In response to increased demand, the petrochemicals sector is also expanding particularly in the Middle East where the first gas-to- liquids projects are taking shape and Nigeria an ever-expanding market. Projects within these sectors have significant funding demands and require specialist legal advisers. LICENSES AND APPROVALS
Our effective networking arrangement with the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigerian Copyright Commission, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and other specialized agencies, ensures speedy processing and approval of our applications. This has reduced the expenses of our clients considerably and has enabled them to clear their goods at the sea and airports without any problem.
IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION
Our effective networking arrangement with the various bodies charged with the regulation of immigration laws in the country have enabled us to procure Expatriate Quotas, Temporary Work Permits (TWP), Residents Permits etc. for expatriate clients.
SHIPPING
The firm is well groomed in shipping law. We undertake various responsibilities for charterers, ship owners, brokers, operators, insurance, banks, ship yards and traders. We endeavour to resolve various maritime and international trade related disputes. We advise Client’s on international carriage of goods, maritime and commercial contracts and other relevant areas.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS
The Firm is involved in various telecommunications transactions involving some telecommunications and courier companies. Experience garnered over the years in this area of law can be put to the best use in addressing the needs of clients. We have at one time or the other procured NCC and courier licenses for various clients. Legal opinions have also been generated to address the growing and specialized needs of our clients.
RECOVERY OF DEBTS
In view of the fast-changing trend in the global economic activities of our numerous clients, we have put in place a stand – by machinery at ensuring that our clients’ debtors reduce their indebtedness to the barest minimum and or eliminated completely. We have dedicated associates that ensure effective follow up of all our client’s debtors. Our style of debt recovery includes gathering all useful information about the financial viability and assets of our client’s debtors and effective monitoring system. We do this within the confines of the Nigerian Laws and without any exposure whatsoever to our clients. From the initial stage, we assess the capacity/capability of these debtors and adopt the best, cost effective and prompt strategy in the recovery of the debts. Whilst we carry out our activities in this regard, we ensure that our clients are adequately and promptly briefed about every step taken through our on line reporting system. Where we have a huge debt profile to recover, we usually divide the areas of operations of the debtors into zones with associates monitoring and overseeing the affairs of debtors in each zone for effectual results. However, in some other extreme cases, litigation may be the last resort.
PROPERTY LAW
We undertake works on all aspects of Real Property Law, services include conducting inquiries at the Lands Registry and preparation and perfection of interests and rights over land and obtaining necessary consents and approvals incidental to land transactions in Nigeria. Negotiations and preparation of deed of agreements, leases, assignments and mortgages of interest in properties both locally and abroad. Perfection of legal documents and execution of searches at the Lands Registries.
INTELLECTUAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY

The firm assist Modern Weekly Law Reports (MWR) in reporting and editing the decisions of the appellate Courts in Nigeria.
